Emma Cook was admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives on 30 January 2012 and is therefore now a Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer.
Emma began working for Talbot Walker LLP in 2003 as a Legal Secretary and with the support of the firm and her colleagues, she started studying to become a Legal Executive while continuing to work full time for the firm.
The first stage of the ILEX course concentrated on a variety of different areas of law, whereas the second stage of the course was set at degree level and required Emma to undertake examinations in specialist areas of law. Emma chose to take examinations in Tort law, Company and Partnership Law, Law of Contract and Civil Litigation Practice.
Having passed all of the examinations, Emma was admitted as a Graduate Member of the Institute of Legal Executives on 3 February 2010. Emma then undertook a period of “post-qualification employment” as required by the Institute before being admitted as a Fellow on 30 January 2012.
Talbot Walker LLP congratulates Emma on her achievement which is a result of many years of hard work.
